Experiencing Pre-Holiday Stress? Let’s get you Holiday Ready!

Hi Besties…Can you believe we are already in the Holiday season? This year went by sooooo fast!

The Holiday season is not for everyone but I appreciate that it can be a time of  joy, connection, celebration, and…eating copious amounts of food :)

The Holidays can also bring about a whirlwind of emotions and triggering energies that may leave you feeling drained and make you want to hide from everything and everyone.

As we navigate through family gatherings, social events, and the hustle and bustle of the season, it's crucial to prioritize our well-being and stay grounded in our own energy.

****But First***

Before diving into strategies for maintaining your energy, it's highly important that you understand your own energy dynamics.

TGLM’s Guide to Understanding your Energy Dynamics

  • Recognize the activities, people, and environments that either uplift or deplete your energy.

  • Take note of your personal triggers and be mindful of how they may manifest during the holiday season.

Now that that’s done, let's explore some ways to stay in your energy, even when faced with triggering, and uncomfortable situations during the holidays.

  1. Set Boundaries:

One of the most powerful ways to protect your energy is by setting clear and healthy boundaries. Communicate openly with family and friends about your needs and limits. Learn to say 'no' when necessary, and don't be afraid to prioritize your well-being.

  2. Practice Mindfulness:

Cultivating mindfulness can help you stay present in the moment and navigate triggering situations with grace. Incorporate mindfulness practices into your daily routine, such as meditation, deep breathing exercises, or simply taking a few moments to focus on your breath when faced with challenging energy.

  3. Create a Safe Space:

Designate a space in your home or find a quiet corner where you can retreat when needed. Fill this space with items that bring you comfort and peace, such as scented candles, calming music(check out our playlists HERE) or a cozy blanket. This sanctuary can serve as a refuge during moments of heightened stress or triggering energy.

  4. Embrace Self-Care:

Amidst the holiday hustle, don't forget to prioritize self-care. Schedule time for activities that recharge and rejuvenate you, whether it's a warm bath, a nature walk, or indulging in a good book or movie/show. Taking care of yourself is a necessary act of self-love.

  5. Connect with Like-Minded Souls:

Surround yourself with supportive and like-minded individuals who understand and respect your energy. Seek out positive connections, whether through online communities(heyyyy), local events, or gatherings with friends who uplift and inspire you.

  6. Release Expectations:

Let go of the pressure to meet unrealistic expectations, whether they come from society, family, or yourself. Embrace imperfection and focus on creating meaningful moments rather than striving for perfection. This shift in mindset can alleviate unnecessary stress and help you stay grounded.

Staying in your energy during the holiday season is a deliberate and empowering choice. This holiday season, prioritize your well-being and make choices that align with your true self, allowing you to savor the joy and magic of the festivities while maintaining your inner balance.
