How to be Present When Adulting gets too Hard.

Hey bbs!

In a world that is constantly buzzing with notifications, deadlines, and endless to-do lists, it's so easy to get caught up in the whirlwind and forget to just chill. Life is too short and if we are not careful, we can let it pass by in a blur of hustle and stress. I am definitely guilty of overthinking, planning my next ten moves in my head, endlessly scrolling on social media, worrying about the money in my bank account etc that sometimes I forget to appreciate the little things in life.

Let’s face it, adulting is hard. Like real HARD. We have bills to pay, goals to chase, and a constant juggle of responsibilities.

Being present is the practice of fully engaging in and appreciating the current moment without being overly preoccupied with the past or future. It involves bringing your attention to the here and now, cultivating an awareness of your thoughts, feelings, and surroundings without judgment.

It doesn't mean abandoning your dreams or shirking responsibilities. It's about finding joy in the journey, celebrating small victories, and letting go of the need for everything to be perfect. It is so necessary because it allows for us a way to heal ourselves of the trauma we receive from simply existing in this tough world.

The following has worked for me and they may work for you too. Let’s get into it….

🌸 Mindful Moments: Ever find yourself in a conversation with a friend and you catch yourself planning your next move? Or watching a movie and halfway realizing you don’t know the plot because you’ve been mentally drafting your to-do list for the day? I know how rewarding it feels to be productive but sometimes, it is important to pause and savor the moments that we are creating, be it with friends, or solo. Being mindful feels like putting down the mental checklist, and really tuning in. It is important that we sometimes allow ourselves to savor the moments and allow those moments to just be what they are.

🎧 Tech Timeout: This one is a no brainer really. It is so important to challenge ourselves to unplug for a bit. A tech timeout can work wonders, whether it's a sunset stroll or a solo dance party in your bedroom.

🧘‍♀️ The Power of Pause: Amid the chaos, find the power of pause. Take a moment to breathe, reflect, and appreciate where you are. It's not about the destination; it's about the journey.

As we navigate this crazy adventure called life, let's make a pact to be kinder to ourselves.

Give yourself permission to be fully immersed in the now, without the weight of what's next or what was. You deserve these moments of pure, unadulterated joy, and they're happening all around you.

You've got this, bbs! 💖

Sending you all the good vibes and positive energy!
